Our Mission
An important component of AHEPA’s mission is to enhance society’s awareness of the principles of Hellenism. We promote education through scholarships and various programs aimed towards promoting Hellenism.
EDUCATION
ramapo chapter #453 district 5

A history of support & commitment to education.

overview
AHEPA’s commitment to education has been well documented throughout its history. Over $4 million is endowed at the local, district and national levels toward the use of scholarships and a half-million dollars is awarded annually. Thousands of young men and women have benefited as recipients of AHEPA scholarships at these various levels.
The scholarship program at the national level is administered by the AHEPA National Educational Foundation. It offers scholarships to a wide variety of students. Recipients include high school seniors, college and post-graduate students who are looking to become tomorrow’s leaders.
The preservation of Hellenic or Classical Studies programs on college campuses is an important issue for the AHEPA Educational Foundation. A subcommittee of the Foundation, the Hellenic Cultural Commission, actively works to support the study of the Classics at universities.
In addition, educational programs such as “Odyssey in Athens”, “Journey to Greece” and other scholarships or educational programs/internships are sponsored by the Foundation.

GREEK LANGUAGE CLASSES FOR ADULTS
We are pleased to announce that our Greek Language Classes for Adults program restarted in the 2024-2025 school year after a few years of recess. Our classes are taught by Dr. Eliana Antoniou and her daughter, Evva.
The program involves 34 classes from October 3, 2024 to May 29, 2025. Each class is one and half hours and includes the Ellinopoula platform. The emphasis is on practicing Greek in conversation and common language usage. The sessions are not intense but fun and encourage conversation and the spoken language. The next semester will start in Fall 2025.
